The article addresses the analysis of different methods of meeting the demand for electricity from a global perspective.
The paper also addresses the impact of energy consumption on sustainable development. Opportunities and challenges
associated with energy generation from different sources are also being discussed. The energy crisis is being viewed
from the perspective of the challenges and opportunities for modern science and technology especially from the perspective
of increasing energy efficiency and decreasing the energy intensity of the economy.
