Streszczenie
Alternating current, natural monopoly, hierarchical power system from the beginning, throughout several decades
was easy to control and mange. Renewable energy sources injection change the power system from hierarchical – to
dispersed what implied necessity to use new tools for control and protection. Installing synchrophasors in nodes of dispersed
power system and linking them in dispatching center we received system of power measurement units (PMU system) enabling
easer control, protect and manage. Starting from USA in the end of twentieth century, PMUs are applied in many countries
in transmission, distribution and microgrids networks.
