Streszczenie
Selection of outdoor air parameters, covering such parameters as air temperature and humidity is of significance
in the design of an air-conditioning system, for it influences design cooler capacity and design capacities of equipment
responsible for air treatment. The article analyses influence of selection of outdoor air parameters on cooler design capacity.
For this purpose, different sources of outdoor design parameters to be used for calculations were compared. Outdoor air
parameters calculated in accordance with Polish Standard PN-B-03420:1976, parameters obtained from records from
Krakow-Balice weather station (typical meteorological year), and parameters from local weather station located in Krakow
city centre (data from 2010-2015) were selected for comparison. The analyses presented here show that selection of required
air cooler capacity based on outdoor parameters calculated using Polish Standard PN-B-03420:1976 data could at times lead
to selection a cooler whose capacity is less than needed capacity. The annual combined number of hours where by the
demand of cooling capacity exceeded the designed cooling capacity was between 6 and 65 hours.
